BATON ROUGE— Cardiovascular Institute of the South (CIS) has completed a renovation and expansion of its Baton Rouge clinic at 8401 Picardy Avenue to bring new services and added comfort and convenience to patients.
The clinic expansion features six ultrasound rooms, a cardiac PET scanner, an expanded stress lab, 24 total exam rooms, a 3,000+ square foot lobby, and a covered drive-through entrance.
CIS began in 1983 in Houma, Louisiana, as a one-man practice under Dr. Craig Walker. The Baton Rouge location opened in January 2011 and moved to its current location in 2013. CIS has grown to be a world leader in cardiovascular care with 20 locations throughout Louisiana and Mississippi and more than 60 physicians. CIS offers cardiovascular care for the heart as well as the entire body, including diagnosis and treatment of coronary, carotid, valve, peripheral, and venous disease, as well as heart arrhythmias.
“Our ultimate goal is to create an efficient and comfortable environment for our patients,” explained Dr. Garland Green, CIS interventional cardiologist. “The additions to our clinic have helped us to accomplish that goal as we continue to deliver world-class cardiovascular care to the Capital Region.”
